Danielle and Billy set on Monday and Tuesday morning in Enron, Ohio to hunt some deer… and boy did they come back with a handful! Billy shot 2 deer, Danielle 1 (see picture of her gangster self holding the head up) and they used team work for the 8 point. Great job guys! Can’t wait to try some of that homemade jerky! (OK maybe)

Zach Childs, Grant Terry, and Jason Lee set out in Lake Wimico to find an alligator this past weekend, and boy did they. They harpooned a 10’ 6” alligator with a muzzy sting ray tip, bought from Bluewater Outriggers. Scott Krause, who frequently shares his unconventional and somewhat questionable alligator hunting and cleaning tips with Bluewater Outriggers customers, was impressed with the three amigos and their tenacity against this large alligator. He thinks they may have to trade in their polo shirts and khakis for some alligator boots pretty soon….

Holy Shark, Batman! Read this amazing Shark catch and release story…
Before heading out for our next session of shark fishing, Joel and I decided to stop by Bluewater Outriggers for some bait and possibly some advice on where to fish. Scott told us about a nearby spot that would likely hold some big sharks, and we decided to check it out. We ran out some baits in our kayak a little after sunset and waited for the first run. After an hour or so, Joel had a powerful run but failed to get a solid hookset. We ran his bait back out, and about an hour later my Penn 9/0 growls to life with a slow steady run. I scramble to grab the rod and let the fish run for another 10 seconds before setting the hook. Immediately, I realize that this is a serious fish. Over the next hour I fail to make any sort of serious progress in getting the fish closer to the beach, any line I regain is stripped off in the long steady runs of the fish. The fish feels like I’ve hooked a slow moving truck, it stays out in the deep water of the channel and slowly pulls drag. Eventually, the fish tires out and I’m able to coax it over the sand bar and into shallower water. After ten more minutes of tug of war, I manage to get the fish to the beach, and the big head of a lemon shark sticks up onto the sand. With the help of a few others, we manage to get the shark into good position to de-hook and measure the fish. It was a beautiful lemon shark that taped out to 9’ 2”, and after an hour and thirty-three minutes of grueling tug of war, I had great respect of this magnificent shark. We snapped a few quick pictures, removed another broken off leader and hook that the shark had been carrying around, and sent the shark on its way. It was awesome to see such an amazing fish swim slowly away like nothing had happened. I’m really glad I had the opportunity to catch and release such an awesome fish. Big thanks to Scott and everyone else at Bluewater for the advice and service!

2,983,593 items will be on sale…
…but Mr. Bear can only count to 10 so that number could be off.
Every year we send our secret negotiator person out to find the lowest prices on the best fishing, hunting, and apparel items in the world. Then he negotiates the prices down even
further and brings these products to our Tent Sale, where we pass these savings on to you.
This year our tent sale will be April 8th and 9th from 7am-7pm, at our Flagship store in Port St. Joe, FL. There will be food. There will be music. And there will be some REALLY cheap, name brand stuff!
On Saturday there will be fishing seminars given by the pros (No not us, the other pros). More details to come….
On the other hand, if you’re one of those people who likes to pay top dollar for everything and hates saving money, you probably shouldn’t come. There won’t be anything for you.

This is an article in Florida Sportsman last year, about the Bluewater Outriggers Charity Classic and the Forgotten Coast Warrior Weekend. Pretty sweet. Looking forward to BWO Charity Classic 2011!
